Robyn Hitchcock says he's been "experimenting" with a diet free of meat and
caffeine, and he's also abstaining from nicotine, alcohol, and drugs. He
says he's doing it for fun, because he wants to remind himself of what it
was like as a child not to have artificial highs and lows. Hitchcock says
that, despite what some people think, he was never a fan of LSD. "Acid
didn't stimulate my creativity," he says. "It just made me more interested
in reality. So I'd be more likely to watch News At Ten or listen to
Farming Today. It reversed my natural inclinations. If I'd taken lots of acid, I think I'd probably just have become an accountant." Hitchcock is
about to move to Chiswick, a western London suburb, to live with his girlfriend Michele.
